I've not seen many of these in my life. The first two photos are the same bird in the wild. You can see the mating mask. The third photo is a different bird but the same species. There's a story that goes with the third bird. That bird hangs out at a rescue center. It was rehabbed then sent to the rescue center to be bulked and it's hung around ever since. It's free to leave but it stays. They don't know why. They don't feed it. It killed the 37 year old veterinarian who intook the bird. It got her through the eye when her guard was down shortly after she began working on it and she died instantly. I know it's a horrible story to tell but.... it helped us remember these are wild animals. They're beautiful but.... wild.

This bird is dainty. They're even dainty when they eat. I watched them for hours and had a chance to see them gulp down fish. The fish they catch are gone in the blink of an eye and they resume the position they were in.
