I want you to know, I've entered many, many, many, species of birds (mostly from within the State of Michigan)
Not to win, but to teach-guide along the way and perhaps enlighten future viewers....

Feathered Friends & Foes Photo Contest-left-pine-siskin-two-right-female-rosebreased-grosbeak-dscf5559.jpg
Bird on the left is a Pine Siskin (Spinus pinus), The two on the right are female rosebreased grosbeak (Pheucticus ludovicianus)
Notice they have two white stripes on their face where the Pine Siskin on the left does not.
I've tried not to repeat any of the species however the next two are probably better representations than their original.
Feathered Friends & Foes Photo Contest-dscf5063.jpg
Morning dove (Zenaida macroura)
Feathered Friends & Foes Photo Contest-dscf6757.jpg
Mallard (Anas platyrhynchos)
We've even found a few of these.

NOT NATIVE!
The Budgerigar Parakeet, or Shell Parakeet, (Melopsittacus undulatus)

You can't get much farther north than you already are without crossing the border. Are you going to Canada???

No no nooooo you silly bird you!
I'm just north of the Wisconsin border....
I took the little brown creeper (my dirt digging, insect loving grandson) into the wilderness for a while. He sure loves it....
Too bad the terrible mosquito birds carried us out of the woods. We joined the rest of the loons in search of fish and insects in the water instead.

This thread just popped into my head....
Were the friends and foe contest results ever posted?
I got pretty busy after it had closed and am wondering if I may have missed them.
I always like to see the results and comments that follow.
