Default Brown Creeper Creeping

The last week I spotted movement on a tree trunk outside my window. Once I spotted the bird, I immediately ran for the bird book and turned to the page with the nuthatches--years ago I remember seeing a picture of a brown creeper on that same page. Sure enough my memory was right, and so was my ID. I was thrilled to see one live and in my own yard!

I took a couple pictures the first time, then a few days later I saw it again and ran for the video camera. Here are the results; I just wanted to share:

Nice! I've seen one here just once.

This is the first one I've ever seen (except in a book). Here's hoping to see it more often and see lots of other new birds on my property. The more I enhance the yard with natives, the more diversity I hope to see.

I saw one only once where we used to live. There was a large spruce tree not far from the kitchen window and when I was doing dishes I thought I saw a movement but didn't know what it was. Then it went to the bottom of the tree and started back up. I had to look it up too.

I haven't seen any of these since leaving North Dakota in 1964. Keep hoping one will appear on the trees in our back yard, but so far, no sightings...

Neat bird - we had one at our old home and I may have seen one here . . . but didn't get a good look at it.
