Buffalo has a great Peregrine season starting right now! Our UB pefas who nested for the first time last year and fledged four healthy kids, this year will have a webcam! The high-def cam has been installed by UB and is now being connected.
![]() ![]() ![]() We also have a new nestbox at Central Terminal tower for the pair who practiced nesting last year. There is no webcam. ![]() ![]() Our Statler Building is totally bankrupt and has its lower floor boarded up, but its nesting pair is still being seen there. Two bridges have nesting pairs, plus the Niagara gorge, and a new pair has been spotted on a grain elevator! |

That's nice that the city realizes the need to add more nesting areas for them.
I hope they don't become a nuisance and someone wants to remove them.... Here.... Seagulls have multiplied to the point that Kmart had to add criss crosses of wires above their roof to prevent them from nesting. The SMELL became unbearable during the heat of the summer. Poo covered cars were another disadvantage while shopping.

The Peregrines are still listed as "endangered" here so the DEC is in charge of protecting them. They cannot be moved or even disturbed. There will never be too many pefas, like there are gulls. Pefas are not social, don't hang in groups and are territorial. Cities should love them as a natural way of controlling pigeon populations.

Good photos Sage. The Miller Brewery in downtown Milwaukee has pigeon control.

I See. I'm just a few miles north of you and we hardly see them at all...

Way to go Sage!!! I like the first photo the best. havalotta> go to Detroit or Green Bay. Green Bay's closer and has some of the good old fashioned "pigeon control" like what Sage has.

The UP doesn't have the pigeon infestation problems since they don't have big cities. Escanaba could have some "pigeon control". I didn't see any last time I was there but it's been a couple years. Here's a list of "pigeon control that's probably grown since it was written, EEK! - Critter Corner - Peregrine Falcon.

You forget, I only cross the bridge if something is truly needed.
If I go any where, it's North to where the natural wonders are.
