They can focus on a prey item while stooping (diving straight down) at around 200 mph! I can barely see if it's too windy!

We have been watching a Peregrine nest on the Canadian side of the Niagara gorge. We watch from Terrapin Point on the American side.

On June 15, Nik Wallenda is going to do his high wire act, walking across the gorge, very near where the peregrines are nesting. Pefa parents are at their most aggressive during this time. Here is something they never see in their airspace...
Wallenda begins practice sessions at casino : Photo Galleries : The Buffalo News
I'm on the iPad so the pic isn't posting..

~Peregrine Falcons~-p1270248raj.jpg Niagara Gorge Peregrine nest site - we counted at least four eyasses today!

WOW I knew female raptors were usually larger than the males but it is certainly apparent in the pic of Yankee and BB!

The complete story with photos of how Athena became fitted with a solar-powered transmitter so we can track her journey! All the people who helped make it happen. Roger and I recording the event!
