Default Question for bird people

Last year Sam, downstairs, removed his birdfeeder from this pole when the condo made feeding illegal. He replaced the feeder with this birdhouse I'm sure he thought was a decorative thing cuz he has hundreds of pieces of "garden decor" down there. Anyhow, I just spotted a chickadee checking it out twice within a minute. What, if anything, should I do?

ummmm, do quick research and tell him what size the opening would need to be for a real chickadee birdhouse?

Prepare to take some photos! I doubt there's much you can do to influence the chickadee's ultimate nestsite selection, so just watch and wait.

Sit back and enjoy the show! I don't know... I like the birdhouse. I'd leave it up and see if they use it. Take a look see inside if they do. Their eggs are cute with little brown speckles and the babies are pink. Then do your thing and take lots of photos.

If you're so inclined you might want to add a baffle to the pole below the house to protect any little baby chickadees...

Good idea Maggy. Plenty of squirrels and munkeys around here who are practiced pole vaulters.
