We have one trumpeter swan down at the lagoon with 20 or so mute swans.

What are Canadians able to do about mute swans? In some areas of Illinois we're starting to humanely destroy them. We're overdue. They've taken a tremendous toll on native waterfowl and they're doing a number on vegetation.

Trumpeter swans are huge birds, there is a pair on the river not to far from me.I remember as a kid visiting some kind of wildlife rehab center, they had a pair of trumpeters nesting near a pond on the property,i remember the guy that ran the place was going to check how many eggs the female laid, well the male thought he was to close and went into attack mode, with one swing of it's wing it broke the mans leg at the shin(and i mean snapped in two like a twig).Granted he wasn't a very large man,5'10" 150lbs but still that is power!
