Someone had shared it a while back and I had saved it into my bookmark area. I use it all the time....
I also saved plant I.D. Frog I.D. and dragon fly I.D links as they became available.
This is a wonderful place to round out the yearning for a natural education.

Ooooo Another good I.D. link just showed up in Herps.

1964 It's surprising to say this but the robin can fly just as well without its tail feathers as with. I suppose it's balanced since ALL of them are missing. Had there been a few left on one side it probably would have to compensate for it somewhere.

I've never tried to feed the little blobs but I sure love listening to them. They have such a variety of vocals.
I chirp back and forth with them....when I THINK the neighbors aren't about

I was listening to the various bird songs in this link Browse for a bird by name and shape, All About Birds, Cornell Lab of Ornithology
Pretty soon my love bird joined in and sang away.... I had surround sound!
I had to smile and laugh when I saw how you wrote: "when I think the neighbors aren't around" as if you were whispering! I always used to worry what the neighbors thought if they would hear me talking to the birdies as I walked the dog. I don't care anymore if they know I am a little odd!

I was whispering...... I also sneak out in my jammies if I see a photo opportunity in the making.
I guess it comes with age...... No, WISDOM!

I have run outside in jammies before, too! I live a few houses from the bay, so sometimes I will hear birds really early in the morning. Once or twice, I've heard loons calling (rare here) early in the morning, so I've run outside, practically sleep walking down to the bay to look for the loons!

As I've gotten older, I have learned to care less and less about what the neighbors think. I guess that is wisdom, huh?

What a coincidence, I too live by the bay....I'm the one chasing rabbits with a fishing pole or whatever I can grab to scare them off.

One July weekend a few years ago...a violent thunderstorm blew up during the night, and woke me up. It was one of those scary ones...possible tornado ones. Wind gusts were up to 80 MPH. It started pouring. The windows in my car were open. My car is parked right outside the back door, so, half naked, I hopped in and shut the windows. No one the wiser.

I went back into the house and stayed up, to keep an eye and ear on things. As I sat in my living room, I looked out my front window and saw a patio umbrella go sailing through my front yard at a high rate of speed...with a panties and bra clad neighbor right behind it, LOL!
