Default Saw a White Egret on the drive this morning

At least I think it was. It was snowy white and looked just like a Great Blue Heron. He was a ways off. There was traffic ahead of me and behind me, so I couldn't pull off to snap a photo.

I don't think I've ever seen one before. There have been occasional blue herons in the horse country that I drive through, but never a white wading bird.

That was a nice surprise in traffic!

This must be the week of the Great White Egret. They are common by me but rarely are they close enough to get any decent photos. They hang out in water stabbing away at fish and frogs. Does this look like what you saw? I watched this one for about a half hour.

Yes, precisely. He was quite near a pond, probably looking for breakfast.
