I want to hold almost everything they bring home, but I refrain. They have to keep reminding me that the less they're handled the better off they are.

To my knowledge we have the one duckling, a fledgling mockingbird, ummm a special bluejay that thankfully seems to be getting more normal everyday, a baby dove, who knows how many lil baby bunnies but I'd guess in the 6-10 range and I know there are a couple more baby birds up there too. Outside there is a young red-bellied woodpecker and a mockingbird that are still showing up for some small snacks, but are gone for longer and longer periods each day.

Thank you for the woodpecker baby update.

How are your other babies doing?

The majority of the babies are doing well. We lost one rabbit today, but the other ten are doing okay. We gained another baby raccoon. I think he has an eye infection which my daughter will nurse along. Other than that he seems to be doing well.

I'm so sorry you lost a baby rabbit. How are the other ten doing as of today and what became of the raccoon's eye infection?

One of the ten rabbits was released at the end of our island this past Tuesday. The other nine are all getting fat and happy. The little raccoon has two good eyes with no infections now and is eating like a little pig.

Close to release are one mockingbird and one bluejay. We still have two other fledgling mockingbirds, a fledgling robin, a fledgling purple finch, one fledgling white winged dove, four nestling mourning doves, four nestling carolina wrens and one hatchling mourning dove.

My daughters are busy girls as you can see, but ya can't beat the payoff.
