Unfortunately the only size available in posts is the thumbnail size. We have limited the initial size in posts to thumbnail size so that members with slower internet connections (dial up, etc.) are able to view threads without long wait times for threads to load. We experimented with larger sizes in the past but the load times become very long.

That sure make sense. I have a slower connection, though twice the speed it used to be. Many people do not shrink down their images for web use, so I totally can see that point.

I like what bug guide does, even though the display image is still thumbnails. They want 560 pixels wide (If I remember the number) and will automatically resize if larger. No need to see some of those creatures at 2000 pixels. LOL

We're seeing hundreds of Cedar Waxwings at our favorite swamp lately! They are so beautiful! Softly colored so they look like paintings. Taupey browns, yellow, red, black, gray.

We've had a family of 4 pileated woodpeckers at the feeders. It's fun watching their behavior and learning their way around. Here's the juvenile female, who has figured out the feeder. The male still depends on mom to feed him (seen here in the tree.)

Our hummingbird family is visiting daily. The honeysuckle is still blooming, has been all spring and summer and they also come to the petunias and million bells that seeded themselves in the pots on the deck from last year's garden party.

There's a male and a female and at least one juvenile. The male has a favorite perch on a particular stem of the Carolina Jessamine on the pergola between the honeysuckle and the feeder. The female's favorite perch is on the candelabra below the honeysuckle. In between the two there is the dance between them to get to the feeder before the other one. Once in awhile they both will share but it's not common.

Here's the female, her expression makes her look very cool.

This Carolina wren startled me when I went to move the plant stand and she flew out. I didn't notice the nest there.

Cute pictures. All summer I have seen house wrens. Lately I am seeing Carolina wrens.
