*Beautiful* heron pictures! The first one is just such a perfect position.

I was gonna say that herons are my favorite--but, I almost said that about red-winged blackbirds...and a host of others. Great pics, MaggyNoLia

Dapjwy, I have no idea what you are doing or why it looks as you describe. Try logging out and logging back in, maybe?

I'll try that, but it seems that 'the internet' thinks that I've already viewed/opened all of the posts. ...not sure it will 'change its mind'.

I love Carolina wrens! The fledglings are adorable. The watchful parent is a great shot.

I'm back. It didn't work, but I just changed display settings for this thread and am trying to find where I left off.

I've been trying to read through this thread--it has become very long. I have my view set to hybrid so maybe that is screwing me up...I was scrolling down to see where I'd left off when I saw this comment to me. I'm LOST!
Dapjwy I think what you're doing is reading on perhaps page 6 or whichever page you're currently reading upon and then scrolling down into the comment section to write your thoughts. When you hit submit .... that comment just sent in by you gets entered into the very last page of the thread. Sooooo now your comment will be seen by everyone way on lets say page 69 or whichever the last page number is.

To help everyone follow along with what you are commenting upon in past posts it helps to hit the quote spot first then type your thoughts in so the quote follows along with your comments.
What you are seeing is yourself at the end of the thread... What you need to do is pay attention to the post # you were last reading to go back to that page to continue reading things in order they are submitted.

The only time a post will follow right after your writing is when you are commenting on the very last thing someone has talked about...
For instance if you tell me you just read this. Your comment will be below my entry. If you comment below post #6 and we've already had 53 posted comments in the thread your comment will show up as #54

Hope this has helped you understand things a little better.

Sage you HAVE to put that great Egret into the P.O. M. contest....
That's a sure winner if I ever saw one!
