I'm on this forum all the time, trying to look for places to get my nature news, but recently found this, has anyone else seen it already? I've never heard of it before, am I completely out of touch?

Ferns look nice. I wonder how mine are doing. I should go out and check. Mine sort of die back without much show. One day they're up and perky and green and the next they're droopy and brown... Yours look good and showy.

I was sound asleep in bed when my daughter ran in and told me that a Pileated Woodpecker was in the back yard. By the time I got dressed and grabbed my camera he was in an empty lot two doors down.
![]() This little wren is another regular visitor to the back yard. ![]() I haven't made an ID on these birds yet. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Sometimes knowing the bird helps me with identifications from field guides-
Bird Identification Could your little bird that loved your Clethra be a Pipit?

A few pictures of a blue bird. I've never had this type of bird in my gardens before, so I think it's bluebird, but I'm not sure. Correct me if I'm wrong.
