Default Wood Ducks are here

I just had a couple of visitors land in a tree in the yard. I've had a female using a nest box on my property for a couple of weeks now.

They're so beautiful. They almost look fake with the colorful patterns around their head

They're WOOD ducks - aren't they supposed to be in the woods?

There were mallards in my driveway when I was backing out to go bumming with my girlfriend this morning. She saw them and mentioned them. I was going to drive back to try to get a photos but as you all probably guessed, they moved on me and I would have ended up with a photo of asphalt. Nice ducks in trees. That always makes me giggle when I see ducks in trees.

I use to paint these and mallards when I was doing ceramics. They were tough to do but turned out well. I sold enough I use to refer to them as dam ducks! I got tired of painting them. LOL
