Default Sandhill Cranes yesterday

A nice pair of sandhill cranes in a nearby field yesterday. I think these birds are fascinating. Their very distinct call can be heard for long distances and it sounds like its right out of the dinosaur age!

I am pretty sure I saw a pair of sandhills in a corn field last week. They were far away. Sometimes herons land in cornfields too. I stopped and pulled over to the side of the road. I watched for a bit. It's nice to see what ever I saw. Do you have a zoom on your camera?

I do have a zoom on my camera, but it's only 5X so distance shots like this are at the limits of it's capability. A new camera with a greater zoom is in my my mind, but not in my budget.

This might cheer you up until at such time as your budget catches up with your mind-
