Listen carefully: Georgia birds need our help | ajc.com
excerpt from above:
They’re the flash at your window, the flicker in the sky, the first thing you hear when daylight is but a dark promise —- birds. With the arrival of spring, they are back in their trilling glory. If Earth has a choir, Georgia birds are its chorus.

But all is not well with birds here and elsewhere in the nation. “State of the Birds,” a recently released report, details which species are hurting, which are thriving. Included in the study are a number of birds whose home is Georgia and the Southeastern United States. Some inhabit our coastlines, others prefer swamps, and some live in our pine forests. All are in need of protection.
