Default crossbills

I posted these crossbills in with the post about the olive sided flycatcher Jack but I don't think you saw it. These are right up to the window as you can see and the other one they enjoy a 2ft x 2 ft pond.

Rather amazing, Kildale, as I have never yet seen a crossbill in the wild! Amazing, since you have a flock of them in your watering pool!! Awesome!!!

Guess I missed the shape of their bills in the first set of photos. The last one surely shows their shape. Wow.... I've never seen bills like that on a bird before. How COOL!

I attended a cage bird show just yesterday. There were a lot of birds there that I have never seen before.
One can only imagine the possibilities, of the blends and shapes of those of the wild!
