If you could post your general location, that would be helpful in identification of this bird. Because you are at this site, I can assume North America. I've ruled out house sparrow as they do not have streaks on their fronts. Maybe a type of finch. It seems pretty young to be out of the nest, but hopefully a parent is nearby.

That big thick bill would indicate finch or grosbeak to me.
