We're going out every day looking! A Snowy would be a lifer for me! We circled Dunkirk airport today looking for one.

Do you go to Birding.ABA.Org and check the list for your area? I check the NJ list every day.

I get about 5-6 emails/day from Genesee Birds where birders post their rare bird finds and we're on the chase. Just did buffalo airport, going to Batavia airport and WWTP then back to buffalo harbor break wall. I've made it my goal to see a Snowy at every location possible this winter!
Also checking Ontario birders cuz our birds cross the borders regularly without having to carry passports like we do!

I just got my first Snowy at Batavia airport and now we're heading for Montezuma Swamps. Pix later of that gorgeous bird!

Ellen, have you seen them yet?

Here is my very first Snowy Owl, a "lifer" for sure! It was undisturbed by the small plane activity not far from its perch.

Default Snowies at the Refuge!

Snowies are still at the Refuge! Here are some pictures from New Years Eve and NY Day. One of the owls seems to really like roosting on the roof of the Visitors' Center!

I had to also post a picture of what I call 'The Paparazzi!' The picture isn't the greatest, but there was a line of 25 cars parked on Wildlife Drive. Glad the owl wasn't close to the road and everyone was being well-behaved and respectful of the owl.

The sunset picture was taken on the back side of Wildlife Drive. I also saw a bald eagle, a young peregrine, a red-tail, several harriers and tons of other birds. It was a great way to start 2014!
