Default Curved bill thrasher - fortified home

I planted some cholla a few years ago that is finally achieving enough height/maturity that some native birds are deciding are suitable for nesting . I noticed in the last week or so a curved bill thrasher had built a nest in one.

It has always amazed me that some of the birds here are capable of calling these thorny plants home . In pics 4 and 5 you may be able to see mama's head sticking up in the gap in the upper center a little to the right .

Now as unlikely as it may seem , even these nests are not totally safe from some predators as can be seen at the below video ;

In pics 1 and 2 here mama ran off when I got a ladder to get above to get some pics inside her home . Two bluish speckled eggs , I'll try to get some of the chicks when they hatch . Pic 3 some more detail of nest .
