According to the people advocating the above, "The FlorAppeal drive has begun -- a fundraising effort of global magnitude for creating the largest, most unique botanical garden in the Western Hemisphere."

"What are the chances of many of these rare and endangered plants surviving far from supporting habitats, including special biotic and abiotic soil conditions? Or those that require assistance of insects and other fauna for reproduction?"

Things that make you go hmmmmmmm.

Think I'd be in the camp in favor of preserving and restoring our existing ecosystems.
