So that is what that is. I have some of it in my front bed, and it was in my "to be identified' pile. Thank you! Lovely photo.

I've been looking for pearly everlasting for the painted ladies. I already have pussytoes which they like and use.
Any suggestions on where I could find this plant?

I like Rebek's phrasing "enthusiastic"! I'd be fine with it being enthusiastic. Maybe it could keep up with the deer's browsing.
Dap, the deer leave our ruellia alone, for the most part (maybe because they're looking for ungarlicked daylily buds).

Well, I'm glad mine survived...I don't expect it to bloom this year, but I'd be thrilled if they did. One is really close to the house, but the deer still got it--unless it was a rabbit--but I've not seen a rabbit here in a couple of years...and we saw a pair of deer a few weeks ago, they saw us taking pictures of them through the window and didn't run off.

It's soooo dry here now, no rain for 3 weeks. Tick trefoil (one of the many, there are 16 different species in Kentucky) and hawkweed are blooming. Ironweed is just starting.
