I'm hoping your beauty berry began to thrive. Thanks linrose for all you have done to support this thread this year, it has been quite spectacular...so far!
I just found these American beauty berry blooming today. ![]() ~~~I've never seen them bloom before, I have only caught the bright purple berries in the fall~~~ this specimen is growing well in at least 65% shade and natural clay gravel dirt. Another plant that somewhat survives in the same conditions is this milkweed. (blooming 30 days ago, sorry about the picture darkness...but it's blooming!) ![]() ww

Yeah ww, I just checked the beautyberry, it has rebounded and is in bud right now, thanks for the heads up! Mine's in mostly shade but it blooms and berries very well anyway.
Liatris is in bud now too along with the switchgrass. I'm not sure if this one is L. ligulistylis or spicata.

Well, I was wrong on both counts. That liatris is L. pycnostachya - prairie blazingstar. It's a good thing I kept the tag! It's blooming now as is Rattlesnake Master.

Lucky you on the rattlesnake master, I planted that seed 3x this spring...to no avail, I'm glad you shared your picture of it, gives me a clue to all the fun I missed!
