Default How many crabs have you seen?

There are so many crabs out there that you can see when the tide goes out. Here are a few that I have photographed. Starting with Graceful Decorator Crab, Oregonia gracilis, then a second more full covered with debris. Then a different one that does the same thing, attaches all kinds of material to its self, Graceful Kelp Crab, Pugettia gracili

I love the name Graceful Decorator crab! He certainly does look graceful with those long legs and tiny body bedazzling himself with odd pieces of shell and stone. Seeing all your wonderful photographs makes me miss living near the ocean.

Three more crab, two an adult and a juvenile. The first is very strange for a crab. It is also very small.

Boy if you weren't on the look out you'd miss the likes of some of these.

Our children caught a couple like the last one only more yellow in coloration while we were in Florida yeeeears ago. Wonder if they were the same or of a different variety. Just about dug to China in order to excavate and do a hip hop of a capture then release of them.
