Default Water Strider Series

Today, I was out taking pictures, and I ended up at the pond...after multiple tries, I ended up with a few clear photos of the water striders I was focused on. I thought I'd share them here:

This last photo was not retouched (but it was cropped)--I may be crazy, but when I saw those swirls, I had to wonder if the water strider leapt out of the way just as I snapped the photo...and left these swirls on the water's surface. Is it even possible that I could have caught something like that?

Now that I look at the photo again, it appears that the body of the strider is still there--but blurred. I'm guessing that the legs would appear gone if they were blurred.

He boinked as you took the shot, blurring his image yet keeping the swirls where his feet had been, still in focus. A truly rare capture.

So it wasn't just my imagination!

Is it my imagination or do you have a polaroid camera? I haven't seen a polaroid in years.... I didn't even know they still sold film for those cameras.

Smile...nope, no Polaroid; it is from a photo editing program I'm using...I'm planning a project for my blog and thought I'd add a "Polaroid" shot into the mix. I didn't really mean to share it here...but once it was uploaded I let it go. If I ever complete my project, I'll let you know to take a look.

How did you recognize it as a Polaroid. The brown color tones? Less reflection upon the water? What?

I think it is the shape of the photo--it looks like a scanned Polaroid.

Yes, Polaroid were instant cameras--no development required...they "spit them out at you".

I used a program to make it *look* like a polaroid.
