The underwater egg strands of the common toad hatch into tadpoles.
They eventually grow legs as the tails are absorbed and become air breathing land dwelling toads.

This is a cluster of caddis fly larva.
They gather sticks or stones together forming a type of nest to live in for protection.

Catfish nests actually become underwater swarms.
A form of protection as well. Scattering clusters confuse the invaders...
